Coralisma

This project was born from my collaboration with Coralisma, a non-profit dedicated to the restoration of the Mexican coral reef. I had the privilege of managing the logistics for their volunteer programs and documenting their work with underwater photography. The woman featured in this series is Marina, one of the co-founders of Coralisma. Her serene presence in the images reflects the hope and optimism she embodies in her mission to protect and restore our oceans.

In a world often dominated by dire news about the ocean's future, Coralisma offers a vision of optimism and action. The co-founders, Marina and Isabela, have shown me that real, tangible steps can be taken to protect and restore our coral reefs. Their passion inspired me to create this series, which aims to reflect their strong belief that positive change is possible.

Through these images, I want to invite viewers to see not just the beauty of our underwater world but the hope that lies in its restoration. The vibrant corals surrounding Marina serve as a reminder that, with care and commitment, the ocean’s life-giving beauty can flourish once again. This series stands as a tribute to those who work tirelessly for ocean conservation and a call to action for all of us to play our part in preserving the health of our seas.

To support this mission, 50% of the profits from this series will be donated to Coralisma, helping to fund their ongoing coral reef restoration efforts.
