Mermaids Are Real, and I Can Prove It (an underwater mermaid photoshoot showcase)

Yes, you read that correctly! Mermaids are real, and they are probably older than time (personal opinion).

Sure, that may sound weird to say out loud (or even in your head), but just hold on a second because I literally have photographic evidence.

Over the years of working as an underwater photographer in the Riviera Maya (that Mexican Caribbean area that goes from Cancun to Playa del Carmen to Tulum), I have personally seen and shot with dozens, if not hundreds, of mermaids, and these underwater mermaid photoshoots aren’t just some folklore tails (pun intended); they are tangible experiences that anyone can be a part of during my underwater photoshoots (yes, even non-swimmers).

This blog is going to be straight forward. I’m going to showcase my evidence that mermaids are real below through photos taken during underwater mermaid photoshoots, and you’re going to turn into a mermaid believer, but when that happens, you need to know that I can turn your mermaid dreams come true with your very own underwater mermaid photoshoot—all you have to do is fill out that contact form anywhere on the page, and I will send you all the info you need over email!

Evidence #1: Vero Beach Mermaid

Her natural habitat is Vero Beach in South Florida, but I had the opportunity to capture these beautiful underwater photos in the cenotes of Mexico while she was doing her yearly migration to somewhere “chill.”

One of my favorite things about this shoot with the Mermaid Brandee was that she knew how to work her “assetts” to lure the viewer into the shot.

If you scroll through the photos below, you will see she has no issues getting friendly and socializing with the other mermaids.

Evidence #2: Merman Andy

You’re in for a special treat. This is Merman Andy; he hails from the cool ocean waters of Southern California, but much like many other merfolk, he vacations—sorry, I mean “migrates”—to Mexico at least once a year to enjoy the warmer waters where he can relax and shoot with his favorite underwater photographer (me, duh) here in the cenotes of Mexico.

As you scroll through the photos below, you will see that, much like Mermaid Brandee, he also takes joy in looking gorgeous in front of the camera during his underwater photoshoot.

Evidence #3: Ms. Luna Mermaid

All I have to say is that each shoot I’ve had with Ms. Luna Marie has been so special, awe-inspiring, and unique. Not only is she out-of-this-world gorgeous, but she is also unbelievably talented at posing underwater and drawing you into her vision of fantasy. Check out the photos below of her bringing a new light to the ancient light rays found shining into the cenotes.

Evidence #4: The Surreal Siren

Here is another mermaid from the California Pod, and much like Merman Andy, she really knows how to draw you into her world through her ethereal yet delicate underwater poses. Keep scrolling to dive into her underwater world.

Evidence 5: Mermaid Felicia

In case you had any doubts about whether mermaids are real, Mermaid Felicia should help clear that up. During our underwater photoshoot, we captured so many unique looks that only a real mermaid is capable of pulling off. Scroll down to take a peek at those!

Evidence #6: Mermaid Vayna

I was at a loss of words when I saw Mermaid Vayna in the cenotes I call home. I truly couldn’t believe how stunning she looked in her tail, and when I saw her catching some sun rays on what we affectionately call the “mermaid rock,” I had to snap a picture! Keep scrolling to see more from our underwater mermaid photoshoot in Playa del Carmen!

Evidence #7: Mermaid Venilia

Another gorgeous mermaid caught in her natural habitat—sun bathing among the underwater light rays. One of my favorite things about Mermaid Venilia is how effortlessly she embraces her undewater world. Scroll down to see her steal the heart of a landlover and bring him down to her depths!

Evidence #8: The Abalone Merman

Yet another beautiful merman caught in the wild! The Abalone Merman comes from the California Pod, and you can clearly see in these photos how much he is enjoying the warm weather of the Mexican Caribbean! My underwater photoshoot with this merman was so much fun—scroll down to see his gorgeous blue tail and fin play with the blue tones and lights of the cenote.

Evidence #9: Mermaid Aurora

I can’t speak highly enough of Mermaid Aurora! As you can see from her photos, she is gorgeous and really understands underwater photoshoot posing.

Evidence #10: Merman Will

Here, I present to you, Merman Will. Also known as the “Hawaiian Merman,” he comes from Oahu, Hawaii. I truly loved the energy that Will brought to our underwater photoshoot in Cancun—it was mysterious and sexy, as you can see from the photos presented here.

Evidence 11: The Karibbean Mermaid

Last but not least, I present to you the Karibbean Mermaid, also known as Mari.

Mari is originally from Argentina, but she has really made Mexico her home and is basically a mer-celebrity of the Riviera Maya. After many years of getting to know each other, I have the pleasure of calling her a close friend—we meet often under the warm Caribbean waters to share a tall shell of mer-garitas and gossip about the seven seas!

Evidence 12: Mermaid Sirenity

If you met Mermaid Sirenity, you would be left with zero doubt. She is the real deal, and spending this time with her underwater was a mermagical event! As a mermaid from Hawaii, it was truly a special day getting to meet her as she explored the Caribbean sea of Mexico. Below, you can check out the rest of the photos from our underwater mermaid photoshoot in the Riviera Maya.

If all of this photographic evidence doesn’t convince you that mermaids (and mermen) are real, then nothing else will!

I hope that after going through this blog, you are left with a new-founded sense of amazement for the world we are all a part of,
