Cenote portrait session with Keesha
The cenote photoshoot - Keesha
That morning.
When I met Keesha I immediately noticed two things about her.
What a sweetheart she was, and how much anxiety and pressure on herself she was carrying.
Shortly after she reached out to me, Keesha informed me that she wasn’t a very skilled swimmer.
I ensured her my assistant Rossina and I will be there to coach and guide her throughout the entire shoot.
The shoot.
After the pre-shoot planning and breathing techniques training, we entered the cenote’s crystal clear water. I absolutely loved the outfit Keesha chose, and I couldn’t wait to start snapping away.
Keesha did an amazing job of letting us guide her through facing her fears. It’s not easy to overcome some instincts, but Keesha kept unbelievably calm, and let us coach her throughout the entire process in order to capture magical images.
By the end of the session, she was even holding her breath longer than me! Ross and I were really impressed!
The takeaway.
This underwater photoshoot was the gift Keesha gave herself for her birthday. But she did much more for herself. She left her comfort zone, solo traveled all the way to Mexico, and did something that no non-swimmers right in their minds would ever do.
She trusted a stranger to guide her through conquering her fears and was able to completely submerge herself underwater.
That is what I call determination!
I’m always warm-hearted when my clients choose and trust me to help them face their fears.
Thank you Keesha, I’ll be waiting for your round two!
