The underwater photoshoot got canceled!

Dang! I couldn’t believe our bad luck: the cenote shut down because of heavy rain brought by the tropical storm Gamma!

Mother Nature wasn’t on our side this time.

After exchanging some crying emojis with Janelle and me trying to cheer her up, we just went on with our days.

But Janelle was so determined to have her underwater photo session done, that she postponed her flight!

When my assistant Rossina and I finally met Janelle, she was wearing an ethnic and colorful outfit. When I saw the look on Ro’s face, I knew we were both thinking the same thing.

“Janelle, PLEASE wear that outfit for the underwater shoot!”

Thankfully, she did :)

The hurricane Delta

Just two days after I completed the cenote photoshoot with Janelle, the hurricane Delta hit Playa del Carmen.

Thankfully it downgraded from category 4 to category 2 as soon as it hit the coast, so no excessive damage was caused.

Still, far from an ideal underwater shooting situation.

We had a very short window of time to make this photoshoot happen, so ultimately Janelle’s determination made the creation of these beautiful images possible!

Janelle’s testimonial

Life is what you make it! Refusing to let 2020 hold me down, I decided to cross international waters!

Options were limited so Mexico 🇲🇽 it was!  I joined a Facebook group called “Black In Tulum”. There I came across a stunning underwater photo! This photo was not only beautiful, but amazing! The quality of the photo was impeccable and the lighting was perfect. The background spoke peace and tranquillity... it was simply beautiful! An underwater photo shoot was now on my “must do” list! The photographer’s instagram info was tagged in the photo, so I made sure to keep the information.

After I arrived in Mexico I reached out to the photographer Francesca Reina who immediately responded with her pricing, location, availability and a contract! She was very friendly providing information, answering my questions and assuring me that my photo shoot would be a safe and wonderful experience!

I can float lol, but I’m not a great swimmer, so I’m not very comfortable in deep water. Francesca who is also a scuba diving instructor, informed me that she has an amazing assistant, Rossina, who will be with me every step of the way. Now I’m comfortable, I’m ready and I’m gonna face my fears head on!

The morning I decided to do my photo shoot we were hit with heavy rain and strong winds so the Cenote closed! Very determined to make this shoot  I changed my flight, I wasn’t leaving Mexico without doing this photo shoot!

The following day Francesca and Rossina worked me into their schedule! I finally got to meet these two amazing ladies who made my trip to Mexico one of the best and most exciting trips yet!

They coached me on everything that I needed to know, giving me so much assurance and guidance throughout the entire process.

When I received my gallery, it was jaw dropping! My pictures were beautiful, amazing, stunning!!! Family and friends were in awe!

I highly recommend Francesca for your underwater photos! She’s knowledgeable and very professional, her work absolutely amazing!
